Please be careful with this mnemonic. The middle finger is the anterior cruciate ligament. The middle finger crosses the dorsum of the index finger. The middle finger represents the anterior cruciate. Imagine the MP joint attaching high posterior lateral at the medial side of the lateral femoral condyle within the intercondylar space. The distal phalynx of the middle finger should rest upon the finger nail of the index finger (not fully crossed). Thus the distal attachment of the anterior cruciate ligament is anterior on the tibia relative to the attachment of the posterior cruciate. Mnemonics can be treacherous, but, nevertheless worthwhile if you are careful with them. Also, realize the venous is not spilled as venis.
